Today’s featured creative is a wonderful woman who regularly makes me salivate at her drool-worthy and impeccably shot recipes. Welcome, Sarah!
Hello! Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Sarah Coates, the food obsessed madwoman behind The Sugar Hit. I develop, style, shoot, edit, design and post every single thang that goes up on that there blog.
What work are you most proud of to date?
Every day I get to do what I love and make something that’s original and unique, I feel proud. It was incredible to be featured on Design Sponge, because it’s such a huge deal and I’m such a fan. It was also awesome to be asked to contribute to Food 52, again because I’m such a fan.
As far as my own work goes, it’s hard to choose, because I’m always thinking about the next thing, but I thought this Toblerone Ice Cream Cake was pretty boss.
What was the turning point in your career?
I’m sure it’s coming any day now.
Who would you love to collaborate with one day?
OH MAN, there are so many people. Jamie Oliver, the man himself. David Loftus, the world’s greatest food photographer. Gizzi Erskine, a British food writer and chef who I’m so inspired by. Joy the Baker, my blogging idol. Christina Tosi, the creative genius behind Momofuku Milk Bar. Jemma Wilson owner of London bakery Cupcakes and Doilies.
Also, I can’t imagine collaborating with her, but any chance to sit down and just chat with Nigella Lawson would basically be my dream come true.
What’s your number one tip for someone wanting to start their own business/blog?
Don’t listen to anyone; trust your instincts.
Where can we find you online?Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Google Plus! Or just say ‘The Sugar Hit’ three times into a bakery window at midnight…
