You’re about to go on a fantastic holiday, and you want to look fabulous, right? I might sound vain, but if I’m trying to enjoy myself on a trip the last thing I want to deal with is regrowth, calloused feet or hairy legs.
Sure you can get these issues tended to whilst you’re away, but let me ask you, would you rather be stuck in a salon instead of seeing the Eiffel Tower? Or trying to mime to a Vietnamese lady how you want your hair cut and getting literally the opposite of what you asked?
So here is my beauty regime “prep” that I do before I go on a big trip.
1 week before:
♥ Laser hair removal – if you get your underarms/bikini/whatever bits lasered make sure you get a top up treatment at least a week out. This gives time for your skin to recover and the hairs to fall out.
3-4 days before:
♥ Get your eyelashes and eyebrows tinted – it thickens and darkens your hairs, meaning you can get away with less/no makeup when on-the-go.
2 days before:
♥ Get your legs and eyebrows waxed.
♥ Dye your hair (otherwise that regrowth is only going to get worse!)
♥ Get a haircut (if you hair is short) or a fringe trim – me!
♥ Get a pedicure and a manicure – I don’t usually recommend Shellac as it damages your nails in the long term, but when you want to avoid chipped nails for as long as possible on your holiday, it’s the best answer.
The night before:
♥ Wash your hair (nothing worse than flying with dirty hair). Yuck.
♥ Moisturise your skin and apply a nourishing face mask to help with the drying effects of flying.
