Tara is a Vancouver-based artist who creates everything from illustrations to jewellery and sculpture. She loves featuring cats and food in her work so obviously I’m a huge fan. Welcome Tara!

Hello! Who are you and what do you do?
Hello to you too! I am Tara Galuska and I rescue blank walls and make the world a more beautiful place through my art and illustration work. I also build connections and share stories through my work in communications and social media for artists and arts organizations.
What work are you most proud of to date?
This changes all the time and is usually the very latest piece I’ve created. After a few days I am over it and then my next piece becomes my favourite until I am over that one too. A bit of an emotional roller coaster but it does drive me to keep going!
What was the turning point in your career?
There have been a few and they have always come about by listening to my heart and intuition and then making a decision from there. Sometimes they have been big things like leaving steady full-time employment as a graphic designer and moving across the world and sometimes they have been small things like joining Instagram.
Who would you love to collaborate with one day?
Oh boy, I love collaborating with big hearted creative people! I have something in the works with Sarah Clement and Julie Nicole and even though it is in its early stages I am very excited.
What’s your number one tip for someone wanting to start their own business/blog?
Rather than a tip I’d love to offer them a virtual hug or high five, if that is more their style! Also a a big cheer of “Go you! You’re awesome!”
