I’ve been a huge fan of Cristina Re‘s stationery since high school. I used to love going into Spotlight to browse and purchase her range of paper, stickers and accessories in her signature feminine, French influenced design. When I was recently invited to meet her at Sofitel for the launch of her new high tea collection, I couldn’t wait!
Cristina has since expanded her stationery empire into the home décor market and opened a High Tea Salon & Boutique in Melbourne – the first of its kind in Australia. This was followed by the opening of her first International tea salon and boutique in Chengdu, China.
Her new High Tea Collection is hand illustrated and made from the finest quality bone china. It is part of a collaboration with the Sofitel’s high tea offerings. This limited edition collection features a range of teacups and saucers, mugs, side plates and platters with 24 ct gold embellishments.
It was such a pleasure to go to the Sofitel to try its renowned High Tea, featuring a range of deluxe Ronnefeldt tea, sweet and savoury treats.
We also got a chance to use ink and watercolour pencils to paint some of Cristina’s illustrations. It was a great idea to get the creative juices flowing with fellow creatives. Here’s my finished artwork, styled by Cristina herself!
And of course I had to get a photo with Cristina, who was just as lovely as her designs!
The divine Cristina Re tea ware collection can be found at David Jones and boutique specialty stores across Australia, or online at www.cristinare.com. I hope you love it as much as I do!
